
Since 2015,KRC in partinaership with HIVOS and IIED has been implementing the food change lab to study the food systems in Kabarole District and increasing platforms for mult-stakeholder forums to debate critical issues affecting the food systems in the district.
The food system lab is focused on achieving four specific objectives.
- To gain an improved understanding of the determinants of current dietary patterns and barriers to healthier and more sustainable diet.
- To influence sustainable production and consumption of healthy and nutritious food products.
- To influence local policies, regulations and plan to respond to the sustainable food system demands in the emerhing city.
