Fort Portal Food Systems Lab

Since 2015,KRC in  partinaership with HIVOS and IIED has been implementing the food change lab to study the food systems in Kabarole District and increasing platforms for mult-stakeholder forums to debate critical issues affecting the food systems in the district.

The food system lab is focused on achieving four specific objectives.

  1. To gain an improved understanding of the determinants of current dietary patterns and barriers to healthier and more sustainable diet.
  2. To influence sustainable production and consumption of healthy and nutritious food products.
  3. To influence local policies, regulations and plan to respond to the sustainable food system demands in the emerhing city.
